Patrick Young

Patrick Young is a Professional Development Trainer and Kellogg Fellow who founded Raise Your Bar LLC in 2020. As a management thought leader and innovator, he developed the BOOST (Build Outstanding Organizational Support Training) business management system. RYB provides result-based accountability strategies, advancements in utilizing and integrating work skills of the future, design mindset planning, and process improvement.

 

Patrick′s book, A Way Up (Economic Development Post Incarceration) describes the challenges of Incarceration and Poverty and how to rebuild after incarceration, personally and economically, from home ownership to accessing capital. 

Patrick Young was named Innovator of the Year for 2019 by 100 Black Men of New Orleans. Prior to working with the Mayor, he served the New Orleans Business Alliance as the Director of Training. Managing the STRIVE work readiness training program that operated throughout four opportunity centers in the city of New Orleans, helping employ over 640 formerly incarcerated persons in less than 3 years. 

He is the Founder and Executive Director of SharpMen a non-profit that helps men overcome barriers to employment and was selected as a WK Kellogg Foundation Fellow for his proven leadership and dedication to making the city of New Orleans one of the best cities in the world. Patrick was recently asked to be a part of the transition team for newly elected DA Jason Williams assisting with developing strategic solutions to address ethnic and racial disparities.

Father, Entrepreneur, Opportunity Developer, Community Leader and YES – Formerly Incarcerated.

It has been a journey, growing up without a father, fathering a child out of high school, to experiencing the traumatic loss and murder of my older brother, the mental health breakdown and challenges of being justice involved completing a 15 year prison sentence. It is in the lived experiences of overcoming these real-life challenges to his professional execution. No excuses all adjustments. Proof that your life can get better, the bar isn’t preset, you can always improve to a higher level.
